She was partial to blues and especially fond of country music. Merle Haggard was her all-time favorite country singer. She played fiddle and guitar, had a beautiful, alto voice and loved to sing harmony. She and Nate instilled this love of music in their three children. Frances had an abiding interest in history, was an avid genealogy researcher, loved poetry, the outdoors, drives in the mountains and fishing.
Some of her most cherished memories were of times spent in the mountain cabin she and Nate owned for a while in the Bighorn Ranch area.
