The Comfort Suites Near Texas State University hotel is located close to many local attractions and points of interest. The property is always clean and the rooms are very clean. The hotel smells like new! Very silent! All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom.

Excelente hotel. Great bed. Easy parking. Very nice desk personnel. It has free Wi-Fi and rooms with a microwave and refrigerator. Staff were all very friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. Tanger Outlet Center is just a 4 minute drive from this San Marcos hotel.
Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in every room and relax in the indoor pool and hot tub. The personnel is the best of the hotel.

We spent most of our time in Wimberley which was closer and in my opinion much more relaxed and appealing. There were a few hikes in the area to try although the entrances around the trailheads were closed off, giving the impression that you needed to be local to find a way in! We did see some tubing places open on the river despite the pandemic, but we didn't try them. We shopped for 3 days at the Outlet Malls, and still didn't go in all the stores that were available, Hobby Lobby also.
We used our GPS and were able to get around easily without getting lost. We did get on a one-way street downtown, going the wrong way, that was not fun. We really didn't go to any other activities. Booked this hotel because it is a La Quinta and backed by Wyndham.

Boxx and family needed a mini vacation. They were terribly disappointed. However, this was not practiced by this hotel on this date. Front desk was NOT helpful but very rude. We were not given blankets for the beds, only sheets. Had to use our beach towels for cover to keep warm. Did not receive the king room as booked. No breakfast at all. Upon check out we asked for discount for not receiving basic items room booked, no towels or blankets, etc.
Very clean rooms and lobby. Extremely hospitable personel. Wonderful nights sleep. We actually left another hotel that was not very comfortable and truly got a great nights sleep at this Best Western hotel.

Highly recommended!!! The Premium and Tanger Outlets are alwayrs a great place for us to go shopping. We find great name brand items very discounted. The Meadows Center was a nice little treat. The boat ride was soothing and very informative. The water is so clear in the San Marcos river. The aquarium is not that big of deal but it is interesting to go see. You can get a guided tour or tour on your own.

The prices are reasonable and it supports the upkeep of their natural habitat and wetlands. I highly recommend you go on a nice cool day since it is mostly outdoors. You can take your food and enjoy a picnic. You can spend the day their with the family. It was a nice alternative to the running around we usually do in San Marcos.
A nice place to visit with some excellent restaurants like Mamacita's and 54th Street.
Those "oldest" places?
Would have loved to have spent more time checking out the other sights! The property was decent since it looked like La Quinta bought the property from another hotel company but overall it was decent. The room was clean and the room looked like it was updated to standards such as new paint new furniture and flooring but our room was comfy for sure would stay their again.
Hilltop Hacienda is a beautiful property perfectly located 6 miles from downtown San Marcos, yet it felt like it was much farther in the country. The landscaping and pool area with outdoor shower were my absolute favorite part of my stay. The beds were so comfortable it was like being home. The location was the best close to San Marcos outlets, Cabelas, and Greune. The hotel was very clean, safe, and had all the necessities.

Hotel was very clean and the room was equipped with all necessary amenities. The front desk staffs were extremely welcoming and supportive. I was very impressed. Certainly I would stay there again. Easy to pull up outside of room and unload my overnights luggage and dog. Good location for the reason I was in San marcos. Friendly girl at front desk. Very convenient.
